Illustration (イラスト Irasuto) or artwork is a part of the card that serves for cosmetic purpose and to differentiate between cards.
Several cards might have different illustration between their prints, and in rare case, different cards might share the same illustration with small to no differences between them (as with the Player and Start Card in Tenth Anniversary set). The name of illustrator in charge of a card's illustration can be found in the notation of that card.
Other than the aforementioned purposes, illustration has no actual effect on the gameplay.
